Do you have books, photographs, artifacts, collections, or other archival material pertaining to the history of Bird's Fort, Calloway Lake, early T. D. Newton/Samuel Kephart Survey landowners, sportsmen's clubs, or developers who owned/occupied the site?
The Bird's Fort-Viridian Historical Research Repository, administered by the Arlington Historical Society, is a central repository for historical research on Bird's Fort and the 2,000-acre parcel that now comprises the Viridian community of North Arlington, TX. We are always interested in adding to this site's collections of articles, documents, visuals, maps, books, letters, manuscripts... anything that can help tell the story.
We welcome the opportunity to review new materials that support and augment this body of knowledge. These types of materials are typically found in collections that may include correspondence, original writings and creative works, reports, administrative files, digital or analog audiovisual materials, photographs, singular artifacts, and ephemera such as pamphlets, bulletins, and posters. Newspapers and periodicals are also valuable resources. Historical significance is considered broadly and evaluated in terms of the materials’ documentation of unique perspectives and relative availability in this repository.
