Do you have books, photographs, artifacts, collections, or other archival material pertaining to Arlington's history?
The Fielder Museum, home of the Arlington Historical Society, is a central location for the stewardship of Arlington's historical archives. We are always interested in growing our collections of books, photographs, maps, manuscripts, display items, signage, and historical artifacts from bygone businesses and homes... anything that can contribute tangibly to our mission of preserving and sharing Arlington's history.
We are always happy to consider new material donations that support the mission of our organization.
Materials fitting our collecting scope will be of enduring historical significance. All potential donations will be reviewed and evaluated by professional archival staff. These types of materials are typically found in collections that may include correspondence, original writings and creative works, reports, administrative files, digital or analog audiovisual materials, photographs, singular artifacts, and ephemera such as pamphlets, bulletins, and posters. Newspapers and periodicals may also be considered. Historical significance is considered broadly and evaluated in terms of the materials’ documentation of unique perspectives, relative availability in other repositories, research and exhibit value, rareness, and other factors.
Please contact us to submit your materials for evaluation.
